Following Your Procedure

Following your procedure your physician's office and the surgery center will call to follow up with you to ensure you are recovering well.

If there was any pathology completed during your procedure, results take up to 14 business days and your physician will call upon receipt.

If you experience heightened discomfort or an irregular change in symptoms it is important that you notify your physician immediately. If these symptoms become more serious or persistent, call 911.

After anesthesia:

  • Be sure to have a ride home and know that you should not drive or operate heavy machinery for 24 hours following your procedure

  • Do not plan to make any important decisions following your procedure

  • Eat lightly, unless otherwise instructed by your physician, and drink plenty of fluids following your procedure. Avoid alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours.

  • If you experience serious pain or any adverse symptoms discussed in your discharge instructions, call 911.
